Dex Fm Dragons Gold pledge appeal

Dex Fm is looking for pledges of help from the community if were successful with our bid for the dragons gold or similar funding for the proposed project below. We are mainly looking for Trades man who feel they maybe able to donate a day or more of there skill for free to the project but we are taking all offers even unskilled as there will be plenty of painting and other small jobs. We are proposing to place a plaque within the basement levels with names of all those who help make the project possible.

Dex Fm is 1 of the 4 final bids in the running for a grant of £25,000 being awarded by Shanklin rotary to a new project to benefit the people of Shanklin and the rest of the island. Dex Fm is planning to use the money to create a central hub for our station which offers a platform for local artists and Dj’s to showcase themselves. We will also plan to do monthly or fortnightly events aimed at youths between 13 – 18 yrs providing a safe nightclub like environment with information available on relevant topics to youths. In time we plan to start small workshops held in Shanklin theatre’s basement where youths can contribute to events with products from workshops building decor, art work, dance routines and Dj/Mc’ing. We feel this will have a positive effect on all residents of Shanklin as it’s giving the local youths who are currently un catered for a place to go stopping them from becoming a nuisance. Part of our bid contains a plan to help with the renovation of the basement level of Shanklin theatre to make the space accessible by other groups in Shanklin and around the Island. Soon we will publish a detailed list of required materials to see if any local individuals or businesses can help in anyway bring down our costs top maximise the impact of the Dragons Gold.

Please email trade@dexfm.co.uk with a brief description of your skills and qualifications, How you can help the project whether it be time, advice, materials or donations of any type followed by a contact phone number if possible.
